I researched the internet and fashion affected. I found out that the internet helps the fashion industry in many different ways such as influencer promoting brands, retailer store websites, produce people can access the trend, the revolution technology, etc. The advantages itself kinda make me excited but those advantages take the disadvantages to fashion too. It’s fast fashion inside, pollution, poor workmanship, poor working condition, cheap material, etc.
Fast fashion is a business model that creates by cheap material and cheap workmanship…etc. To churn out clothing collections at a rapid pace and can be summed up as cheap, trendy clothing, that samples ideas from fashion shows and or celebrity culture and turns them into garments available online and in stores almost overnight.
It has many solutions to solve fast fashion issues, it’s possible to find stylish, affordable, and ethical clothing if you just know where to look. Such as buy less, shop thrift, buy sustainable, donate.
Fashion Dirty Secrets by Stacey Dooley, she investigated the shocking environmental impact caused by an insatiable appetite for cheap clothing. In the video “How much water goes into the cotton clothes we buy ?” She let people join in the investigation by taking their clothes out of the shopping bag and calculated how much water necessary to make the clothes. After they got the answer, all of them kind of stun “Really”. Stacey also compares a jacket 100% cotton to “How much drinking water is that for one person?”, it’s 24 years.
